Origin and distribution |
An old Devon variety. A coppin is an old name for a spinning top. Once widely distributed both in old traditional orchards and more modern ones. Still found as recently planted standard trees. |

General description |
Basically conical in shape, often large. The skin is pale yellow often with a patch of mauveish flush. Stem is short and woody. |

Pure sweet, sometimes mildly astringent. Useful for blending.
